Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
This page explains what shellreps ("we", "us") collects when you use shellreps, and what we deliberately don't. Short version: there's no account system and no server-side database. Almost everything lives only in your browser.
What we don't collect
shellreps has no user accounts, no server-side database, and no signup form. We don't collect your name, address, or any personal details directly. We don't see anything you type into the practice terminal; it runs entirely in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
What's stored in your browser
A few small pieces of state live in your browser's
localStorage, never on a server of ours:
- Whether your license key has been verified (a flag, not the key itself)
- Your light/dark theme preference
- Your XP total and which rooms you've completed
Clearing your browser's site data for shellreps removes all of it. Room progress and terminal state that isn't listed above resets on every page reload; it was never saved anywhere to begin with.
Payment and license verification
Purchases are handled entirely by Gumroad, not by us. We never see or store your payment details. When you paste a license key on the login page, your browser sends it directly to Gumroad's license-verification API to confirm it's valid; we don't run a server in between. Gumroad's own privacy policy governs the purchase itself; see gumroad.com/privacy.
Cookies and tracking
We don't set tracking cookies and don't currently run third-party analytics. If that changes, this page will be updated first, before anything is added, along with a note in the same place.
Third parties
The only third-party service involved is Gumroad, for payment and license verification. We don't share, sell, or otherwise hand off any data to anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change with it. Material changes will also be noted on the homepage for a period after the update.
